DISCOVER - CASTLES OF VERONA - WEST
Verona was threatened by forces from the west, specifically from Milano and Mantau. From Lake Garda flows the unnavigable Mincio River. Several castles follow the river south to Valeggio sul Mincio. In 1359, Valeggio, Villafranca, and Nagorole Rocca were once connected via a 10 mile wall called the Serraglio.
