DISCOVER - CASTLES OF VERONA - SOUTH

The fertile plains north of the Po River feature numerous rivers running from the northern mountains, across the Verona province, and into the Po River.  This was vast swamp before agriculture required a conversion of the land to that of ariable.  In the 1200's, this land had seen more than its fair share of hardship.
